Engage, connect, relate- and while doing so, entertain and amuse. There is nothing better than the sound of laughter and recognition when the audience is engaged and delighted. It definitely helps bridge the gaps in understanding and relating to individuals across all age groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Jerry
Born and raised in the original post WWII suburbs of New York City, I didn\u2019t achieve my early dreams of becoming Superman or a TV cowboy (or succeeding Ed Sullivan!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I did make it to television in the early \u201890s as the host of BRAVO\u2019s \u201cArtsBreak\u201d show, as well as day player parts in soap operas and commercials, and performances in industrial films and on stages at large conferences and conventions. I also had a good run as a freelance writer\/journalist before transitioning into \u201ccorporate\u201d professional life in the early aughts as, variously, a program manager, account manager, and a sales rep for healthcare communications and medical ed companies, creative and production services agencies, and ultimately, as an Enterprise Sales Director for the biggest and baddest meetings & events software and event technology company in the world, Cvent- where I worked with and mentored myriad Gen Z\u2019ers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this point in my life and career, I am most proud of my marriage of 27 years, and my now 22-year-old Gen Z twins, who are off and running in the world. I still learn something new every day, I soak up the culture around me, and I can\u2019t wait to speak to audiences of intergenerational professionals at conferences and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Achieving cross-generational connection and collaboration in contemporary Corporate America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With AI upon us and other potentially discomfiting aspects of professional life creating a degree of anxiety across the white-collar world, my talk will focus on the challenges faced in achieving cross-generational understanding and better collaboration in the complex and ever-changing workspace- from the perspective of one Boomer whose career journey and experience was somewhat of a case study in learning how to relate to and collaborate with multi-generations of colleagues. After all, there are generational differences in the ways each generation expresses itself, and there are barriers that need to be pierced in order to achieve the end result of meaningful communications and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Learning Objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify key characteristics and values of different generations (Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z) and understand how these influence workplace behavior and expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Attendees will learn three communication strategies tailored to bridge the generational gap, fostering better understanding and collaboration among team members, leading to building a culture of mutual respect and cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By the conclusion of the talk, participants will recognize the unique strengths each generation brings to the workplace and will be able to create a plan to leverage these strengths in team projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
